ABOUT
b. Darwin, Australia. Lives in Perth.
Pamela Tang’s work reflects a dialogue between art, craft and design. After a career in interior design, she returned to painting, where the interplay of technique and form continues to shape her abstract and still life pieces.
Finding resonance in the weathered beauty of the Australian rural landscape and worn objects, her practice is a thoughtful exploration of texture and materiality, often expressed through a restrained colour palette. Working primarily with acrylics, rice paper and tissue paper, she creates intricate layers that transform the surrounding space into a meditative environment, imbued with a sense of fragility shaped by the delicacy of the materials. The raw imperfections in the details of her art invite viewers to engage with its unfolding elements, reflecting the harmony and stillness found in nature.
Her work embodies the understanding that true expression is quiet, does not seek to convince but to speak softly through its presence.
